The Walled and the Wood

Welcome to the Walled and the Wood, an unofficial TTRPG published under the Sixth History community license!

In this game system, players can roleplay as characters in the universe of the Secret Histories as a Game Runner guides them through the horrors and powers of the Invisible World. Learn occult Arts, summon nightmares into the Waking world, and try not to lose your mind. Or let yourself go a little batty.

This system is best used by players looking for a tabletop game suited for the alternate history and world as presented in Cultist Simulator, the Lady Afterwards, and Book of Hours. This was originally envisioned as a sequel system to the Lady Afterwards, but it is perfectly suitable for every player who wants to dabble in the Invisible Arts in any setting, story, and environment.

 

The Walled and the Wood is a full-package system: the 134-page core rulebook includes everything you need to play except the character sheet (downloaded separately for free) and dice. TWW is a d100 system (a d% and d10, rolled together), but you'll also want a d6 for some additional mechanics. (Also included below is a free quickstart character creation guide to help players roll up their occultist and get to the table even faster.)

For table convenience, we've added a smaller Player's Handbook (included with the purchase of the game) if Game Runners and Players want to maintain the mystery of the Secret Histories but also have a fully-functional set of rules to use (AKA no spoilers mode!).

We've also updated the rulebook with details on how to use TWW in your own Sixth History project! Let us know what you're working on; we'd love to collaborate.
